PURPOSE OF THE JOBUnder supervision, the Quality Technician I is member of the technical team responsible for product sample testing related to our critical product characteristics. This is primarily done through using various instrumentation and lab equipment and ensuring that our ISO procedures are being followed.Reports to: Quality SupervisorSpan of Control: N/ADirect Reports: No direct reportsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES Product and material testing Performs under supervision laboratory tests to evaluate the quality of finished products. Conducts scheduled testing of specific properties of products/finished goods using lab equipment and specific testing methods. Documents test results using computers. Communicates test results to operations personnel and quality/technical leadership. Places materials on hold as required to prevent customers from receiving poor quality finished goods Auditing Participates in product audits. Participates in ISO audits. Conducts process audits as required. Support investigations, experiments, and trials Supports investigations of customer complaints Provides support and testing of materials resulting from process experiments and trials Supports productivity improvement efforts by making process measurements, observations, and audits as needed. Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science Degree with lab work in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering Experience in a laboratory environment desired. Experience with cellular glass or glass manufacturing desired. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems. Able to use MS Excel spreadsheets effectively, enter data in applications, and navigate basic file management systems. Detail oriented and accurate. Able to follow standard work and procedures.
