Associate Director, Paid Social – Hearts & Science OverviewHearts & Science is a data‑driven marketing agency focused on real‑time, addressable digital marketing. The Associate Director, Paid Social leads the social function, drives paid media strategy, and partners with agency teams to deliver growth for our clients. Responsibilities Lead a team of Social Supervisors and Paid Social strategists, managing day‑to‑day operations, onboarding new hires, and ensuring alignment with client objectives. Define and execute paid media strategy across all social platforms; identify, test, and scale new channels and products. Collaborate with strategy, planning, and cross‑channel performance teams to develop integrated, client‑centric solutions. Drive business development activities, including creating pitches and working with junior staff to support proposals. Over hires, including materials development, delivery, and continuous improvement. Act as point of contact for technology partners and social network integrations, ensuring timely delivery and issue resolution. Identify and communicate insights, performance trends, and optimization opportunities to internal stakeholders and clients. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of paid social experience, including account management and paid media strategy. Strong knowledge of direct and brand marketing principles, with a deep understanding of the interactive marketing landscape. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. Self‑starter with proactive initiative and a culture‑first mindset. Experience with media sales or interactive ad agency environments is preferred. Demonstrated success in a leadership role managing social or paid media teams. What You’ll Need To Succeed Deep understanding of social performance campaigns and activation. Ability to design cross‑channel performance strategies across brand awareness, consideration, and conversion. Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously. Proactive engagement in bringing new opportunities and ideas to the team. Effective communication across agency capabilities and performance teams. Day‑to‑day client communication leadership and client relationship management. Remuneration Base salary range: $70,000 – $125,000 USDBenefits include health, vision, dental, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, paid parental leave, paid medical leave, STD/LTD insurance, and vacation/sick/personal days.
