Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise technicians and cashiers under pharmacist guidance. Lead selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians, including discipline and termination decisions. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving complaints, and answering non‑clinical questions to enhance customer service. Assist pharmacist with patient care duties such as registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, patient and physician calls, and administration of vaccines and health screenings where allowed. Delegate non‑clinical tasks, ensure timely completion, and hold staff accountable for workflow. Prepare and file required reports and records for company and government agencies. Coordinate and organize daily pharmacy schedule, recommend staffing allocation, and maintain a clean, stocked environment. Manage inventory; prepare annual inventory reports. Drive implementation of new technology and processes, champion change, and collaborate on equipment operation and maintenance. Ensure adherence to company policies such as Good Faith Dispensing, asset protection, diversion monitoring, and prescription error reporting. Handle insurance claims processing, follow‑up with insurers and providers, and participate in third‑party audits. Assist Store and Pharmacy Managers in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, quality, and customer service. Oversee Community Outreach Portal, coordinate off‑site immunization clinics, and maintain relationships with retail partners. Lead performance management of technicians, maintaining compliance with disciplinary policies and attendance standards. Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of technicians, ensuring timely completion of required trainings. Identify knowledge gaps among team members and support their development through hands‑on training or learning modules. Monitor licensure, registration, and certification status of pharmacy staff, and maintain records per company policy. Maintain PTCB certification and pursue additional certifications, education credits, and training modules as required. Participate in store/pharmacy meetings and communicate key messages to the pharmacy team. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations). Preferred Qualifications Previous people‑management or leadership experience. Prior experience with Walgreens and an exceeding expectation performance evaluation.
