JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking aTest Technician Iwho will provide high-level direct support to Test & Repair Department. This person will assist Test Manager to prepare documents for repair services, perform in house testing, component level trouble shooting, configuration, calibration, and repair of Doble products.The successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-directed individual with superior electronic technical skills and experience. In this role, the Test Technician will interact with all levels of management and employees throughout the organization, necessitating strong communication, high technical and customer service skills.This role will be based in ourOntario, CAoffice reporting to the Test & Repair Manager.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPrepare all repair service documents to submit to billing.Troubleshoot products, instruments, modules and printed circuit boards to the component level.Perform component level repair at the printed circuit board level.Perform, document, and provide detailed component level failure analysis.Effectively interact with engineering and operations in support of Test and Repair Dept.Provide technical support for electrical and mechanical aspects of various products and systems.Configure, test, and calibrate new production instruments and products for order fulfillment.Calibrate, upgrade, test and repair returned customer owned instruments and products.Record all test data and failure information into the production/repair data collection system.Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes.Open to learn and perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Associates Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering is preferredMilitary or electronic training certificate is a minimumREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:At least 1-3 years of experience as an electronic technician with a proven track record in troubleshooting and supporting electrical and mechanical aspects of highly customized, modular instruments and systemsBackground in analog / digital circuitry / troubleshooting and PC board checkoutProven high level of hands on system and component level, testing, trouble shooting and repair of complex electronic circuitsHands on experience with printed circuit board assemblies.Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscope, DVM, frequency counters, etc.Proven experience performing and documenting component level failure analysis for complex instrumentationMust thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environmentAbility to interpret schematics and assembly drawingsStrong understanding of software driven hardwarePREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):Familiarity with the execution of installation for hardware and softwareAbility to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communicationsExperience with power industry high voltage test equipment a plusExperience with Microsoft Office software. Strong skill in Excel is preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Exceptional problem solving and debugging skillsStrong Customer support phone skillsExcellent written and oral communications skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to proactively communicate status & issues to internal and external customersAbility to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple prioritiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers.
