Job Title: Microwave Assembler/Technician, DC

FLSA Status: Hourly

Department: DC Assembly

Reports to (Title): Production Manager/Supervisor

Brief Summary of Position:

Build precision electro/mechanical devices; tune same devices to meet specifications. Perform VSWR, insertion loss (IL), impedance (dB) and other testing and calibration of coaxial and waveguide components, DC-110GHz. Maintain quality assurance records. Must be willing to work overtime when required to meet customer demands.

Essential Duties of the Position:

  • Build precision electro-mechanical devices.
  • Perform VSWR, insertion loss and impedance testing.
  • Perform calibration of coaxial and waveguide components
  • Perform VNA testing/calibration of product.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer needs according to planning and work order.
  • May help train other technicians.
  • Complies with Maury Microwave quality systems, including correctly completing all related documents.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and be willing to hold peers accountable for the quality of their work.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)

  • Associate of Science degree in Electronics or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum two years in a microwave lab or similar environment successfully testing, tuning, calibrating, analyzing, and troubleshooting microwave waveguide and coaxial components.
  • Knowledge of HP 8510 Network Analyzer and/or PNA required.
  • RF theory knowledge a plus.
  • Able to use micrometers, calipers, and interface gauges.
  • Capable of reading blueprints and schematics.
  • PC literate and ability to quickly learn test software (MMC iTune, IV CAD, IQSTAR, etc).
  • Able to effectively communicate with others in the various technical disciplines within the Company.
  • Mechanical and small motor drive experience and soldering ability desired.
