Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, Day/Night rotation, Every other weekend and holiday required

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience required

License: Active RN license from a compact state or eligible for ND licensing

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Must-Have:
- EPIC EMR experience
- Experience working in a larger hospital (200+ beds), level 2 or higher trauma center

Job Description:
- Provide care to general medical-surgical patients.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge.
- Utilize age and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting.
- Utilize unit-specific equipment, including AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry.
- Ability to float to any medical-surgical unit on any campus as needed.
- Participate in a structured orientation program, including 1 day of lead center training and 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.

Additional Information:
- The unit comprises a 10-bed department with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during the day shift and 6:1 for the night shift.
- Navy blue scrubs dress code.
- New unit collaboration, helping cover in other medical-surgical units while core staff train in the new unit.
- Local travel rate considerations for those living 60 to 80 miles away.
