Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day/Night Rotating (12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a larger hospital (minimum 200 beds) and level 2 or higher trauma center

License: Active RN license in ND or compact state

Certifications: BLS (must be AHA certified)

Must-Have:
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic
- Ability to work in a larger hospital environment
- Experience with telemetry

Job Description:

- Provide comprehensive nursing care for general medical-surgical patients.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge.
- Utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting.
- Operate equipment including AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry.
- Float to all medical-surgical units across three campuses as needed.
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts.
- Adhere to the dress code of navy blue scrubs.
- Participate in a 1-day lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.

Additional Information:

- This is a new medical-surgical unit, and you may need to cover for core staff as they train in the new unit.
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility, but those living 61 to 80 miles away may apply at the local rate.
