Software Engineer 2 - Analytics & AI U.S. Bank seeks a Software Engineer to build analytics and AI solutions leveraging Azure services. The candidate works collaboratively within agile teams and across the organization, emphasizing the development of data pipelines, AI features, cloud deployments, and supporting production releases. Essential Responsibilities Develop data processing and AI features using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning. Create ETL pipelines and integrate AI services such as Azure Cognitive Services and Azure AI Search into applications. Assist with containerization and deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate closely with offshore engineers for development, testing, and smooth handoffs. Support weekend deployments and production releases, including validation and rollback procedures. Continuously update knowledge of Azure analytics and AI advancements to apply best practices. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Three to five years of relevant experience. Preferred Skills/Experience Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala; strong SQL skills. Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, and Stream Analytics. Exposure to Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, and AI Search. Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and real‑time streaming concepts. Basic understanding of Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to write unit and integration tests for data and AI workflows. Strong communication skills for collaborating with onshore and offshore teams. Adaptable to agile environments and changing priorities. Willingness to support weekend deployments and release activities. Location Expectations The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, with an in‑office expectation of 3 or more days per week and flexibility to work outside the office for the remaining days. The actual range may differ based on location.
