Director Business Development Dedicated Transportation Join to apply for the Director Business Development Dedicated Transportation role at Ryder System, Inc. Summary The Director Business Development is responsible for leading new business pursuit and expansion/renewal business. The role coordinates the full sales cycle, including lead generation, prospect qualification, and leads the cross?functional pursuit team with clear strategy on pricing and presentation. Essential Functions Lead deal pursuit: create deal and pricing strategy; develop proposals; prospect new brands and network; explore cross?sell opportunities; negotiate contracts. Provide ongoing commercial support on closed accounts and explore cross?sell opportunities. Further education on vertical for consultative selling. Additional Responsibilities Focus on one vertical/business unit, but can work other deals as directed. Understand and customize Ryder solutions for customer needs; transition new accounts after 24 months. Propose $120 million over 5-year period. Sign cross?sell opportunity and adhere to company policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills And Abilities Effective listening, writing, speaking, and presentation skills. Interpersonal and negotiation skills; customer service orientation. Problem?solving, multitasking, priority setting, and adaptability. Confidentiality and team collaboration. Time management, flexibility, and self?driven excellence. Understanding of services, costs, pricing and value expertise. Qualifications Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, or related field. Masters degree preferred (MBA). 5+ years of sales experience, including 3 years at quota and 2 years at 75% of quota. 5+ years selling supply chain solutions or repeated quota attainment. Expert knowledge of services, costs, pricing and value. Travel 25% to 35% of travel. Job Category Outside Sales. Compensation Salary: 140,000 160,000.
