Operational Buyer

e-VAC Magnetics LLC, a member of VAC Group, is currently seeking an Operational Buyer. This position will support our supply chain operations. As part of the procurement team, this role will be key in developing and implementing policies and procedures for our new North American manufacturing facility in Sumter, SC. Experience with SAP and working in an international organization are preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Procurement Activities:

• Solicit and evaluate quotations for single-item purchases, comparing prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with technical departments to ensure quality requirements and execution standards are met.
• Align procurement activities with existing contracts or previous offers.
• Advise on setting and maintaining minimum stock levels.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and assessments to ensure high-quality partnerships.
• Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
• Maintaining ongoing supplier performance data for periodic internal/external review and initiate corrective action/development as necessary.

Order Management:

• Place and manage orders within established frameworks, including repeat orders as necessary.
• Process order confirmations and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Communicate any deviations in delivery schedules with stakeholders, renegotiate deadlines when required, and escalate issues with suppliers as needed.
• Resolve any discrepancies in quantity or pricing with suppliers.
• Handle quality complaints and monitor corrective actions, including 8D reports when applicable.
• Track and follow up on procurement needs and next steps.

Internal and External Communication:

• Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
• Communicate changes promptly and ensure systems are updated accordingly.

Price and Quota Control:

• Monitor and control purchase prices, confirmed prices, and quantity quotas.
• Resolve discrepancies in pricing or quotas in coordination with suppliers.
• Manage online shop assortments and catalog approvals.
• Validate incoming invoices against placed orders to ensure accuracy.

Data Management and Reporting:

• Update master data and ensure accurate data management.
• Generate standard and case-specific reports as needed.
• Conduct internal analyses, create memos, and compile statistics.
• Recommend and monitor necessary adjustment measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in IT systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Agile mindset with the ability to find pragmatic solutions.
• Relevant experience in operational purchasing or a similar environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities/Authorities:

• Lead and manage procurement activities within your assigned responsibilities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Negotiate and finalize terms with suppliers, resolving any conflicts or issues that arise.
• Monitor and control procurement-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and compliance with financial targets.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent English. German beneficial but not required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

No formal supervisory responsibilities.
