Community Helping Addicts Negotiate Chance Effectively (CHANCE) is a peer recovery support center and emergency housing shelter in Albany, OR. We provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for around 75 individuals per meal. The meal is the same for everyone, so their are no special orders or variations. You work with another cook on Friday's and Monday's, and Saturday and Sunday you are by yourself.

A Weekend Cook is responsible for following a meal plan and recipes to prepare and serve three meals each day for those visiting our day center and living at our shelter. The weekend cook is instrumental in making sure that deep cleaning of the Kitchen and food storage areas happens weekly. The hours are Friday thru Monday, 10 hours per day.

Weekend Cook will work closely with the Lead Cook and Prep Cook to identify tasks needing preformed during the weekend, such as deep cleaning or prepping items for the following weeks meals.

Completing all tasks, in order, on the deep cleaning list from the lead cook.

Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing the kitchen.

Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards.

Serves and plates food.

Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.

Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes.

Handle and store ingredients and food.

Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
