The Role We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead and scale a distributed global team delivering high‑availability, real‑time SaaS platforms. This role is for a builder‑leader, someone who is equally comfortable shaping architecture and mentoring engineers as they are aligning technology with business strategy. You will work closely with our CEO and executive team to define the roadmap and ensure engineering execution keeps pace with ANRA’s global growth. What You’ll Do Lead, coach, and grow a distributed engineering organization across the U.S., U.K., EU, and India while balancing hands‑on technical leadership with strategic direction. Own system architecture and scalability for ANRA’s SaaS platforms, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient global deployments. Partner with product and operations teams to translate complex aviation, regulatory, and operational requirements into technical solutions. Refine and drive our development process and best practices. Drive innovation in geospatial, real‑time data, and ML‑driven decision engines supporting unmanned airspace operations. Recruit top engineering talent and foster a high‑ownership, no‑ego culture aligned with ANRA’s global values. Contribute to code and design reviews, leading by example as a senior engineer when needed. What You Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 8+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years leading high‑performing distributed teams. Proven experience with cloud‑native SaaS systems, real‑time or geospatial data, and high‑availability architectures. Technical fluency in GoLang, C#, Java, and AWS. Ability to translate business and regulatory needs into scalable technical designs. Aviation, aerospace, or air traffic management experience is a strong plus but not required. Intellectual curiosity and adaptability. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to align global teams and convey complex ideas simply.
