Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctlyMust work in full compliance with the approved safety regulationsManaging the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtimeIdentifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new partsDismantling older machines and replacing them with new onesOverseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical partsUsing machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical partsAssembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.Performs any other duties assigned by supervisorPerforms all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.Qualifications:Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to plant mechanic work from a vocational institution with 2 years' experience.
