Position Overview:

Ensure coding compliance across all record types by reviewing and analyzing medical records and abstracted data to verify code accuracy and clinical documentation adequacy as per regulatory standards.

Carry out internal reviews and ongoing education to maintain coding accuracy amidst evolving coding and documentation landscapes.

Code various outpatient medical records, conduct surgeries, clinic and hospital visits, attach diagnosis and CPT codes for billing, partake in audits, and assist with productivity reporting and charge lag reduction.

Collaborate with the Coding Manager on designated projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold utmost confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and ensure compliance with corporate integrity guidelines.
  • Conduct coding quality reviews, provide feedback to coding staff, offer crosstraining support, and deliver quality reviews to other departments.
  • Scrub claims for errors, build edits to prevent denials, optimize quality initiatives, and maintain open communication with management and coding staff.
  • Assist in coder education tasks, new employee orientation, preparation of Compliance and Audit reports, and analysis of Compliance and Audit reports.
Requirements:

An Associate degree or equivalent with relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree from a university, along with CPC or CCS-P certification.
