Job Responsibilities Oversee and manage the daily operations of the tax department, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the firm's financial and operational goals. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support for professional development. Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact for key clients. Review and approve complex tax returns and filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant tax laws. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure quality control and identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on current tax legislation and industry trends, advising clients and the firm on potential impacts. Collaborate with other departments to offer comprehensive financial and tax planning services. Drive business development efforts, including identifying new service opportunities and expanding the client base. Prepare and present reports on department performance to senior management and stakeholders. Manage department budgets and financial forecasts, optimizing resource allocation and cost-efficiency. Ensure the implementation of best practices in tax compliance and advisory services across the firm. Job Requirements Lead the strategic direction and daily operations of the Tax Division. Oversee client engagement, tax compliance, and consulting services for individuals, businesses, and entities. Partner with advisory firm leadership to align tax strategies with financial advisory offerings. Drive revenue growth through business development, partnerships, and process optimization. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals and administrative staff. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and ethical standards. Lead technology adoption, workflow improvements, and quality control initiatives. Prepare and present performance metrics, forecasts, and strategic plans to executive leadership. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master’s degree or CPA designation preferred. CPA preferred. Experience Preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance. Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in mentoring and developing staff. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Experience in strategic planning and business development. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships. High ethical standards and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
