Maintenance Tech

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Tech for an apartment complex in Fenton, MI. The Maintenance Technician maintains the physical integrity of the community and is an integral part of the maintenance team. This is a full-time contract position with the opportunity to go direct based on job performance, attendance, attitude, etc. Pay Rate: $16.00-20.00/hr based on experience. Mon-Fri, 9a-5p.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses and performs minor and routine maintenance and repair such as: electrical, plumbing, AC, heating, appliances, water irrigation, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, carpet, tile, flooring, roofing, gutter, lighting, fireplaces, ceiling fans, doors, cabinets, windows, locks, security systems, etc.

  • Handles resident complaints in a timely manner.

  • Inspects and helps coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services, responsible at times to complete a make-ready, ensuring that all vacated apartments are thoroughly restored to market ready status in a timely manner.

  • Carries the on-call pager or uses personal cell phone as needed/assigned, taking residents' calls through the answering service to respond in a timely manner to emergency maintenance calls.

  • Assists in maintaining grounds and exterior building issues including trash removal, lighting issues, pool assistance, painting, power washing, snow removal, etc.

  • Assists in maintaining the interior of the building including painting, cleaning, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Prior experience in related field preferred.

  • Ability to provide personal hand tools for use at work.

  • Proactive attitude to assist maintenance team to ensure that residents' needs are met, and prospects view an apartment community in which they would like to live. Portrays a sense of urgency.

  • State driver's license and working vehicle for use during business hours.

  • On-time, consistent attendance is an essential function of the position.

 

Requirements:

  • Constant need to be on feet.

  • Bend/Stoop/Squat/Kneel to perform routine maintenance.

  • Climb stairs to reach upper-level units.

  • Push or Pull to move furniture, appliances, open and close doors, etc.

  • Reach Above Shoulder to perform routine maintenance.

  • Climb Ladders to perform routine maintenance.

  • Grasp/Grip/Turn handle tools and equipment.

  • Finger Dexterity to handle tools and equipment.

  • Some heavy lifting may be required.

  • Working both indoors and outdoors in any weather condition.

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.

  • Must pass drug test and criminal background check.
