Senior Principal Network Development Engineer We are seeking a Sr. Principal Network Development Engineer (NDE) in the network design and development organization. The role focuses on the architecture and support of cutting-edge datacenter network fabrics and systems. You will leverage a deep understanding of networking at the protocol level, coupled with coding skills to support automation required to operate a production environment. You will develop cutting-edge, global-scale network architectures and collaborate across organizations to solve complex problems in cloud and AI networking. Responsibilities Work with customers to drive end-to-end development of new datacenter fabrics and services at global cloud scale, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence Lead technical direction for network features and automation opportunities Define and evangelize engineering and operational best practices; collaborate cross-organizationally to maintain high network quality Define and clearly communicate technical standards with forward-looking scalability at the forefront Decompose designs into executable tasks and coordinate with others to execute; collaborate with network software teams early in the design lifecycle to develop tools or frameworks to support design rollouts Participate in operational rotations as primary or secondary. Provide break-fix support for events and serve as escalation point for remediation; participate in post-event root cause analysis Mentor and develop the next generation of network engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance Act as liaison between network engineering and network tooling organizations to translate future network needs into software tooling requirements Qualifications Deep expertise in datacenter networking, with experience across large-scale cloud deployments Strong coding skills to support automation and tooling for production environments Ability to drive architecture and strategic direction for network features and services Experience collaborating across organizations and leading cross-functional initiatives Excellent communication skills to define standards and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences Equal Opportunity and Benefits Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
