Delivery Driver - Class A Job Details Job Location Los Angeles - Commerce, CA Salary Range $22.00 - $23.00 Hourly **JOB SUMMARY:**

Under general supervision, responsible for servicing accounts on assigned delivery route.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Checks in with primary customer contact or assigned representative upon arrival at each delivery location.

* Fills out Par Sheet and checks to ensure that delivery quantities will be adequate to meet customers needs until the next delivery.

* Reviews quantities with appropriate customer contact at each visit.

* Informs customer contact of delivery status and inquires if they have any additional needs or requests.

* For garment deliveries, inquires if customer has had any terminations, new employees, or GRFs that need to be addressed.

* Straightens up linen remaining from prior deliveries.

* Puts current delivery neatly in storage location, making sure to rotate previously delivered product to the top of the stack.

* Removes all strings from the bundles (unless otherwise stated) and throws them away in a trash can.

* If delivery includes garments, removes all empty coat hangers from the rack, removes all talley sheets, pins and twisty-ties from coat hangers, and removes all plastic wrap from garments (unless otherwise requested by customer).

* Ensures delivery area is neat and orderly before leaving each customer location.

* Documents any customer requests that deviate from standard procedure and files with Service Supervisor.

* Ensures quality control and safety procedures are followed with every delivery.

* Performs garment inventory

* Maintains truck in clean and orderly condition.

* Verify daily load integrity.

* Comply with all DOT Regulations (Class A drivers).

* Performs other duties as assigned.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* 2+ years of experience as Route Sales Representative in similar industry

* Valid Drivers License and clean driving record

* Strong attention to detail

* Ability to communicate verbally with customers, superiors and co-workers

* Ability to understand verbal and written instructions

* Ability to work well with superiors and co-workers

* Self-motivated and able to work independently

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

* While performing the duties the employee is:

* frequently required to sit and drive delivery truck

* frequently required to view objects at close and distant ranges

* frequently required to stand and walk

* frequently required to use fine manipulation and simple grasping

* frequently required to bend and reach

* frequently required to communicate with others

* frequently required to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 lbs.

* occasionally required to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.

* Push carts up to 600 lbs.

* Equipment typically used: delivery truck; computer and other office equipment

Note: For the purpose of this summary, occasionally is used to represent up to 1/3 of the time given to the work day, frequently represents 1/3 to 2/3 of the time and constantly represents 2/3 or more of the time.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

Employee frequently drives delivery truck in moderate to heavy traffic. Employee frequently visits customer locations with a moderate amount of noise and activity. Overtime may be required as necessary.
