INTAKE COORDINATOR

ALAMEDA COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Role:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the full-time Intake Coordinator has the primary responsibility for the overall management of the client intake system, registration process, and the processing of all related intake documentation. In addition, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining positive liaison relationships with Alameda County social services, all referral sources and other mental health programs. The Intake Coordinator will work closely with Alameda County in the implementation and oversight of Katie A services. The Intake Coordinator will work closely with clinicians and supervisors in order to ensure assignments of cases. In addition to the intake duties, the Intake Coordinator will provide administrative support for the mental health program; this includes managing supplies and orders, working closely with the facilities department as well as administrative staff across various roles and department to assist with program administrative needs.

The Intake Coordinator also supports the Contra Costa Mental Health program as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide telephone intake to assess appropriate needs of a client.
Check Medi-Cal eligibility on all new clients and monthly on active cases.
Ensure client information is recorded in the appropriate data base systems, i.e., Register clients in Insyst, Exym and Share Care.
Attending appropriate meetings, which include case management meetings in order to review intakes, staff meetings, supervision, and other assigned meetings.
Liaison with Contra Costa Country for UR: track when charts are due, coordinate completion of charts with clinicians and supervisors, review and submit charts to county contacts, liaison with county contacts and clinicians to complete any necessary corrections
Obtain consent for treatment from families or the child welfare worker, where appropriate.
Monitor eligibility and obtain authorizations where appropriate (INSYST and EXYM)
Follows all procedures and protocols related to EPSDT (Mental health component of program
Obtain credentialing for clinicians and staff in both Alameda/Contra Costa County
Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing duties
Provide admin support and manage front desk including linkage with facilities and other intra agency departments, managing supplies and ordering, Client Assistance supporting with scheduling and other administrative tasks. Registering Clinicians in NMT.
Abide by all provisions of the ABW personnel manual.
Perform any other duties as directed

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required.
Excellent engagement skills.
Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populations.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Understand and desire to work with a strength-based clinical case management model.
Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships.
Ability to work independently and to work as a member of a team.
Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills.
Ability to pass various background checks needed to work with children.
Understand/ have previous experience working in mental health service delivery and/or child welfare systems.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule defined by Supervisor and subject to change to meet the business needs.

Travel

Local travel to various worksites is required.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Livescan, TB and health clearances required prior to employment. Compliance with Agency’ vaccination policy required
