Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in repairing and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in various vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:
* Under minimal supervision, performs complex servicing, maintenance and repairs on company and customer vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations
* Assists Shop Manager by providing supervision, technical guidance and instruction to lower-level mechanics upon request
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory of parts
* Ensures that all equipment released to the field meets or exceeds DOT standards
* Keeps shop clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety and efficiency
* Follows all safety policies and procedures
* Weld and fabricate when needed
* Quickly assess issues during breakdowns and communicates with equipment operators and then applies troubleshooting, diagnostic and knowledge to repair equipment in an efficient manner
* Ability to respond to emergency calls after normal working hours
* Ability to work extended hours to meet production demands
* The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements
* Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and address electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
* Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis

Requirements:

Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and to implement that knowledge in safe work practices
* Must have valid drivers license (CDL Class A preferred)
* Must have knowledge of F.M.C.S.A. rules and regulations (DOT 49 CFR)
* Must have your own tools/toolbox
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft office
* Must be able to push, pull, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions
* Preferred- Certificate or Degree from college or technical school Diesel Program a Plus
* Minimum of 5-10 years Diesel experience or Fleet Repairs

Pay: $31.00 - $33.00 per hour
