SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for painting and polishing of aerospace products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Might need to make a pre-design before applying paint on the surface.

Duties may include painting spare parts, repairing some parts and giving a new look

Prepares parts for painting and prepares the proper mixture of materials to be used.

Applies masking according to customer blueprints using freehand techniques as well as templates

Prepares parts for inspection

Works from drawings, sketches or routers to determine processes / procedures to be used

Solvent clean and tack parts to ensure no paint failures.

Maintain painting equipment and tooling.

Requirements:

STRONG reading comprehension and listening skills

STRONG understanding of basic arithmetic

High level of organization and discipline

Must understand HVLP spray equipment

Must be familiar with refinishing techniques in line with that of industrial or automotive painting

Experience:

Previous experience as a painter preferred

Knowledge of different painting techniques and materials

Familiarity with precision measuring instruments for accurate paint application

Experience in materials handling and operation of forklifts and cranes

Basic machining skills for fabricating custom paint tools or fixtures
