TITLE: Director, Development and Corporate Relations REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer LOCATION: Hybrid in Washington, DC Position Summary The Director, Development and Corporate Relations leads a team of frontline fundraisers and guides the expansion of CHCI’s donor program by managing a portfolio of donors. The role will contribute directly to CHCI’s funding base through a portfolio of 50+ current corporate and prospective donors. The Director is an integral member of CHCI’s Development team and critical to executing CHCI’s fundraising strategy in support of the organization’s direction and goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management Manage and motivate team of frontline managers and ensure timely tracking of MOVES management. Evaluate fundraising goals, prospect targets, timelines, and deliverables. Monitor team capacity and recommend reallocation of accounts and new account assignments. Collaborate with team members to refine research priorities and review integrity of reports and fundraising progress. Serve as a thought partner and deputy to the Chief Development Officer. Partner and Donor Relations Build, maintain and develop relationships with corporations, foundations, trade associations, unions, and nonprofit organizations whose mission aligns with CHCI, with the goal of raising revenue for CHCI while helping funding partners meet their goals. Responsible for stewardship and renewal of major donors as well as identifying and researching prospects locally, nationally, and globally who can be cultivated to support the organization with unrestricted, programmatic, and/or event sponsorship gifts. Write and oversee the timely submission of well-researched, well-written concept notes, proposals, grants, reports, and supporting documents in response to solicitation requirements from major donors. Fundraising Strategy and External Representation Serve as a team expert on fundraising best practices and efficiencies for frontline fundraising. Help develop content for CHCI convenings on policy issues and other developments that impact the Latino community and the nation and provide input as needed for all convenings with the goal of sustaining them and raising revenue. Represent CHCI and attend external engagements and meetings that help strengthen CHCI’s relationships with current mission partners and prospects. Work with CHCI’s Chief Development Officer to execute the corporate engagement strategy and make recommendations that will add value to CHCI’s strategic partners, while also raising revenue for CHCI. QUALIFICATIONS Required: 8+ years of relevant work experience and/or education 5+ years of experience managing and motivating a team of staff. Demonstrated success owning a portfolio of 50+ accounts using MOVES management. Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Virtual and in-person presentation skills. Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tool (e.g. Salesforce) Independently meet time-sensitive deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Have a customer service mentality internally and externally. Be flexible and have a positive attitude and willingness to step in where needed. Commitment to the mission of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Preferred: Experience with Capital Campaign fundraising. Knowledge of performance analysis and forecasting. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, web platforms, and Salesforce.
