Job Description
For our client, an important engineering firm specialized in Power System, we are looking for a dedicated Operations Field Supervisor to oversee their activities. This position integrates safety and QA/QC in the daily activity of the traditional role of a job field supervisor in our testing industry.

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Field and Shop Technicians.
  • Responsible for evaluating the technical performance of Field and Shop Technicians, safety, work efficiency, and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Provide coordination and assistance between Project Manager and other AEC departments.
  • Assist Job Leads with their projects and job responsibility training.
  • Develop Operations improvement procedures on a per need basis.
  • Review and evaluate the list of test equipment, make recommendation for future test equipment purchases.
  • Manage and lead projects as needed. Ensure that projects are progressing and completed within scope of work and budget.
  • Answer daily communication/emails from customers and AEC team members.
  • Track and coordinate technical and safety training for Field and Shop Technicians.
  • Mitigate job site technical and scheduling issues.
  • Perform random field audits including job progress, quality of work, safety to assure the highest quality standard.
  • Provide timely feedback to Field and Shop Technicians in a positive continuous learning environment.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis processes for field project deficiencies to develop corrective and preventive action.
  • Manage technical and safety continuing education of Field and Shop Technicians.
  • Manage daily Job Hazards Assessment (JHA), content review, and corrective action as needed.
  • Provide leadership in safety communication, procedures, and lead by example.
  • Provide annual safety award recommendation.
  • Assure field compliance with NFPA 70E and Cal OSHA requirements.
  • Liaise with AEC Operations team providing feedback on QA/QC activities associated with Field and Shop Technicians.
  • Coordinate and assist with shutdowns.
  • Review final job reports for accuracy and quality.
Requirements

Technical and Standards competency
  • Familiarity and competency ,with electrical testing on low and medium voltage equipment such as substation, switchgears, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, automatic transfer switch, motor control centers, dry type and liquid filled transformers, grounding systems etc.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards such as OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • Knowledge of the latest International Electrical Testing association (NETA) ANSI Standards for acceptance, maintenance, commissioning.
  • Knowledge of the latest NFPA 70B Standard for Electrical Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the latest NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Work Place.
Education and work experience
  • BSEE or equivalent technical school.
  • Five years of directly related work experience.
  • Equivalency in military technical and working experience.
  • NETA or NICET Certification a plus
