Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) shall be responsible for the supervision of unlicensed direct care staff in the performance of nursing tasks and activities.

· Provide nursing care to individuals with disabilities in a community/residential setting
· Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan nursing care, implement and evaluate health outcomes of persons supported
· Assist with certification and re-certification of Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) trainings for Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
· Assist with CPR/1st Aid trainings and certification
· Obtain and interpret clinical data, follow up with medical provider's orders as necessary
· Work closely with medical coordinator to ensure timely delivery and ongoing refills of all medications
· Manage a caseload size within OPWDD parameters
· Develop individualized nursing care plans based on provider's orders, referrals and recommendations
· Initiate provider's standing orders and provide education to residential staff for of standing orders
· Collaborate and communicate with Directors, Residential Management and Staff for clinical care
· Complete initial, annual and semi- annual nursing assessments for persons supported
· Participate on incident review committee (IRC) & human rights committee (HRC), as needed
· Attend nursing trainings to remain current with evidence-based practice care as per OPWDD, NY state and company guidelines.
· Granted access to EPHI based on job title and work location
· Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, Compliance Program: Code of Business Conduct, HIPAA, and documentation Standards
· Other duties as assigned within the nursing scope of practice

Job Requirements:
· NYS RN Certification
· Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) Degree highly preferred
· 1+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and or developmental disabilities, and or behavioral health.
· Ability to demonstrate competency in written, verbal and computational skills to document services in accordance with program and OPWDD mandates
