Warehouse Manager

Job Purpose Our Operations Manager will be responsible for the branch warehouse functions and delivery team. This position will plan, direct, and monitor shipping, receiving, picking, delivery, and inventory control to ensure a competitive service advantage. Job Responsibilities Plan and coordinate work activities of warehouse functions (directly and through supervisors), including receiving, picking, shipping, delivery, security and inventory control. Manage and control warehouse and delivery expenses and capital. Maintain and control the physical condition of the warehouse and delivery equipment, supplies, security, facilities, grounds, etc. Develop and implement specific objectives and performance measures for each functional area and individual to improve performance. Ensure that all warehouse and delivery employees receive proper training and skills development. Lead selection and hiring of new warehouse and delivery employees and supervisors; evaluate employee performance and develop and implement action plans for improving employees’ performance. Interpret, understand and act on individual and collective performance and quality data. Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace. Instruct the team in safe working methods and elevate serious issues as appropriate. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications Other duties as assigned. Work Experience 3-5 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent. 3-5 years of related job experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. A thorough understanding of government regulations (DOT, OSHA, HazMat, etc.). Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges. Must possess a thorough understanding of the distribution business. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Warehouse experience required preferably working in a distribution environment. Education High School Diploma/GED Preferred.
