As a Senior Business Analyst on the Velocity Black AI/ML team, you will contribute to the entire data-to-model lifecycle, from curating datasets to validating model outputs to monitoring ongoing performance. You will also support the various governance forums and tasks required to build AI and ML products in a well managed way. In addition to supporting the existing work in the pipeline, you have the opportunity to help set our future tech and product strategy by conducting research and validating hypotheses through data and insights. Working alongside BA, Product, Data Analyst, Data Science, Engineering, and Risk and Compliance partners, you will be an integral part of a very exciting, and fast paced cross-functional team, launching product features and models that deliver significant business value. General Responsibilities: Analysis: Identify challenges and opportunities through data analysis and analyze model and product outputs to ensure we are effectively solving the identified problems Product: Perform analytics and research to assist the development of new AI/ML tools and models, improving our overall digital product offering Strategy: Conduct user research, market research, and research on the latest AI and ML methods to help guide our team towards the best overall product strategy Model Risk and Governance: Help assess risk and monitor against the inevitable risks of leveraging AI/ML products; help bring pieces of intent through various governance forums Execution: Own the end-to-end data to model lifecycle; develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: Product, Engineering, Data Analysis and Data Science, Compliance and Risk and others to drive improvement in quality and service through well-executed product offerings Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytics & model risk management Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Previous consulting experience is a plus Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering) At least 1 year of experience in analysis Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science 1+ years of experience in model development or management 1+ years of experience in market, user, or product research 1+ years of experience in SQL querying 2+ years of experience in business analysis Fluency in modern AI/ML topics Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. New York, NY: $118,900 - $135,700 for Sr. Business Analyst Remote (Regardless of Location): $99,100 - $113,100 for Sr. Business Analyst McLean, VA: $109,000 - $124,400 for Sr. Business Analyst Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
