Job Title: National Account Manager, Industry Relations
Department: Industry Relations
FLSA: Exempt
General Functions In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing key national accounts within the specialty pharmacy sector. You will work closely with clients, healthcare providers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service, drive business growth, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in account development, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and the ability to influence and negotiate pursuant to company strategy.
Reporting Relations
Reports to: Director, Trade Relations
Direct Reports: None
Primary Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned national accounts. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within new pipeline accounts & existing accounts and work to expand the relationship through additional services and products. Develop strategies to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Client Support: Provide ongoing support and consultation to clients to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company goals and compliance requirements.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact the business. Provide insights and recommendations to internal teams to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including operations, finance, marketing, and clinical teams, to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategies that drive business growth and enhance client relationships.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of clients while delivering exceptional service.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing market conditions and client needs.
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Skillful in strategic planning, contract negotiations, and problem-solving

- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development within the specialty pharmacy or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large national accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the specialty pharmacy market, including payer landscape, specialty drugs, and patient care processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- HIPAA trained and /or the ability to work with and protect extremely confidential patient and employee information
Bachelor's degree and industry/pharmacy experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain stationary up to 90% of the time.
- The person in this position must occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, machinery, etc., and traverse conferences, meetings, and remote events.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Must be able to travel.
- May assist with setting up and breaking down marketing materials used for conferences, meetings, and public events to display Amber Specialty Pharmacy lifting 20 to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Normal Office Environment & travel.
Equipment Used to Perform the Job:
Computers, keyboards, mouse, monitors, fax, and/or headsets for phone work. Software specific to the position, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook and Skype. Must lift and traverse the area to move paper and supplies to use the equipment.
Contacts:
Frequently interact with co-workers, intradepartmental staff of the Company, managers, leaders, Vendors, pharma manufacturers, and customers.
