HMS - Postdoctoral Fellow in the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science (HiTS)Title: HMS – Postdoctoral Fellow in the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science (HiTS)School: Harvard Medical SchoolDepartment/Area: Harvard Program in Therapeutic SciencePosition Description: We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology (LSP) within the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. This fellowship focuses on machine-assisted visualization. Recent PhD graduates interested in machine learning, visualization, and computational pathology are encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will work with Principal Investigator Dr. Peter Sorger and Jeremy Muhlich, Director of Software Engineering, to develop an independent research project within the lab’s research focus. Responsibilities include:Developing and refining interactive visual analytics and data visualization approaches for 2-D and 3-D tissue imaging.Extending visualization environments to support efficient and precise annotation of histopathology images using human-in-the-loop machine learning.Leading software design and execution in consultation with imaging experts, pathologists, and computational biologists.Conducting independent research, publishing papers, and presenting findings at conferences.Contributing to grant and manuscript writing and mentoring graduate students and other lab members.The fellow will work in person at the LSP on the HMS Quadrangle at least three days per week, with up to two remote days. Regular participation in group meetings and presentations is required.Basic QualificationsPh.D. in computer science, machine learning, or a closely related field.Demonstrated expertise in visualization methods and technologies applied to complex biomedical images.Strong publication record and evidence of research independence.Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.Resume, cover letter, and reference information required.Additional QualificationsExperience with computational pathology on high‑plex or classical histology images preferred.Proficiency in Python programming.Salary and BenefitsThis position is salaried and benefits eligible.
