Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists of Mansfield is looking to add full-time, experienced Veterinary Technicians Assistants to their team

Our Veterinary Technician Assistants are responsible for assisting with appointments, performing patient laboratory tests, treatments and nursing care, admitting and discharging patients, assisting in surgery, client communication and education.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Previous clinical experience or basic animal handling skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and and focus on client care
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiar with common disease processes and understanding of treatments and medications associated with care.
  • Familiar with running in house laboratory equipment
  • Familiar with proper restraining techniques
  • Help maintain equipment and inventory items as needed
  • Administer medications, and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
