Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a Welding Supervisor in Schaumburg, IL This role is direct hire, first shift, and they are looking for someone with experience in MIG and TIG that wants to advance in their career.


Responsibilities

This Supervisor will not be responsible for any scheduling, planning, discipline, or anything like that. They are essentially just a strong welder that can lead the team informally, and then eventually take on management level responsibilities.


This Welding Supervisor will be welding parts for new foundry machine builds. They are not making the whole machine or putting the entire machine together, they are mainly welding together different parts and components that make up small pieces of the overall build. The welder’s need to be sharp at reading drawings, as they will be charged with welding different pieces of steel together at very precise angles as denoted by various drawings that they will be given. Additionally, they will only be welding steel, not stainless steel, not aluminum, just steel.


Qualifications:

Must have:

  • HS Diploma
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to MIG and TIG weld steel
  • Sharp blueprint reading skills - Candidates will be given a welding test where sharp drawing reading skills are very important.
  • Fabrication skills.
  • Experience using various tools like cutters, clamps, plasma cutters, and brake presses.
