Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Ocala, FL Responsibilities:

Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
Develop machine arrangements within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
Establish the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, impacting product performance.
Adapt machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions.
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan when necessary.
Inspect the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency; investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and advance those techniques.
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.

Key Duties:

Create and standardize Next Generation manufacturing work instructions.
Work in a factory setting with a multi-disciplined team.
Support shop floor operators in various build processes, acquire feedback, and resolve work stoppages through hardware support, continuous improvement initiatives, defect disposition, and root cause analysis.
Train supervisors, other engineers, and shop floor personnel in manufacturing processes.
Read and interpret assembly drawings and/or requirement specification documents, and define manufacturing steps to meet all requirements.
Conceptualize assemblies using mechanical aptitudes, including understanding material properties, heat transfer, and structural properties.

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college, or related military experience.
5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of professional experience with a Master’s degree.
Previous experience in manufacturing and lean principles.
3+ years of experience with Windchill Software.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
3+ years of Lean Six Sigma experience.
3+ years of technical writing experience, particularly in manufacturing work instructions.
