Job Description

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems of industrial establishments by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, splice wires, and insulate wires with friction tape.
  • Read and understand blueprints and 1-line drawings.
  • Clean work area, tools, and equipment.
Essential Skills
  • Journeyman's Electrician License OR equivalent experience (8 years of electrician experience).
  • 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • 4+ years of experience working on heavy-duty equipment and machinery.
  • Proficiency in installations, troubleshooting, electrical testing, and wiring.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience editing and troubleshooting PLCs.
