ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelinesSupport the quality department by responding to customers' calls regarding quality related questionsPerform product verification tests to verify parts meet customer specificationsEnter customer concerns into the database and provide necessary follow-up:Assist and support all departments with the corrective action systemAssist leadership with root cause analysis as neededFollow up and verify corrective action with the help of the audit teamWordsmith and send corrective action responses to customers as requiredProvide data from corrective action system as requested for quality system improvementMaintain corrective action databaseReview items for document control system and assist in updating the system as needed:Send out emails of documents that are coming due and overdueFollow up on outstanding documentsEnter updates into the systemContinuously improve the company quality system and results by using ISO9000 as a guidelineAssist and plan internal ISO auditsMake accurate, easy to use SmartScope programs to verify productAudit the Quality System in all areas to verify complianceMaintain the calibration system to include equipment tracking, equipment calibration scheduling and overall calibration of equipment maintenance using Calibration Recall softwareRead and analyze customer blueprints and specifications to understand product requirementsBy use of necessary measurement equipment, determine the conformance of the part to the customer specifications and maintain proper and accurate records as to the test resultsCollect and analyze data to assist with proper die correctionsAssist with Internal ISO audits at Alexandria Extrusion MidAmerica (AEM)Assist in customer visits and quality audits as neededWork to shorten all QC checks using SPC as basis, to minimize equipment downtimeWork with all department in the best interest of improving processes and procedures through means of data collectionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High school diploma or equivalent degree requiredAssociate's degree in quality management or related program preferredASQ Certification preferredExperience:2+ years of manufacturing experience requiredPrevious quality/customer service experience requiredAuditing experience preferredPrevious blueprint reading experience requiredOther required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to recognize safety concernsStrong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent blueprint reading skills with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancingFamiliarity with the ISO 9001 requirementsExcellent customer relations skillsStrong organizational skillsKnowledgeable in root cause analysis and corrective actionAbility to take part in continuous education and trainingExcellent time management skillsEQUIPMENT USEDOffice equipment (computer, phone, printer, scanner, copier and fax machine)Measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, )Instron tensile testerCNC millSaws: sample saw, band saw,SmartScope vision inspection system
