Position Summary:


We are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Compliance to lead our compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to all U.S. Customs and trade regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compliance management, team leadership, and a deep understanding of customs regulations and best practices. This role will oversee the company’s compliance strategy and work closely with senior leadership to support operational goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a culture of ethical practices and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. Customs, FDA, and other government agency regulations, ensuring prompt updates to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the management of audits, investigations, and compliance reviews, providing solutions for regulatory challenges.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • Manage the C-TPAT program, ACE Portal activities, and other compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations and customer service teams, to drive compliance awareness and best practices.
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on compliance metrics, risks, and program effectiveness.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in customs compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of customs regulations, HTS classification, C-TPAT, ACE Portal, and other compliance-related platforms.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex regulatory challenges.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high-performance teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on relationship-building and regulatory liaison.
