WeVote is a movement of over 100 passionate volunteers (starting with the founders) who are building open-source mobile technologies that touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We observe that many voters are busy, distracted, and impatient. We are a 100% volunteer and remote organization.Role DefinitionReporting to the Board of Directors, the Co-Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have overall strategic responsibility for tracking and facilitating WeVote's programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. Operational responsibility will be shared with the other existing senior leaders at WeVote. S/he will need to develop deep knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and business plans.We are exploring the distribution of the COO role among multiple individuals so that they can focus on areas of specialization. Key to this approach will be flexibility and a team-first approach.This is a volunteer position (WeVote is 100% volunteer) and we expect will require at least 10-20 hours per week - much of this time will be during work hours.Leadership & ManagementEnsure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of communications and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goalsWork with WeVote's high-performance senior management team. Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate our programs (preferably using Objectives and Key Results), to measure successes that can be communicated to the board, funders, and other constituentsQualificationsThe COO must be thoroughly committed to WeVote's mission (see below under WeVote Branding). All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience.
