  7. Identify and quantify potential risks and uncertainties in cost estimates and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  8. Update and maintain databases of material costs, labor rates, and supplier information to ensure accuracy and currency of estimating data.
  9. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to refine estimates, address changes in project scope, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  10. Participate in pre-construction meetings, site visits, and negotiations to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues related to cost estimation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a construction estimator, preferably in commercial, residential, or civil construction projects.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  4. Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  6. Familiarity with construction estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, RSMeans, or Sage Estimating.

  10. Professional certifications, such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Estimator (CCE), a plus.

Working Conditions: Construction Estimators typically work in an office environment but may also visit construction sites or attend meetings with clients and subcontractors as needed. The job may involve occasional travel and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
