**Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Behavioral Health**
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in our inpatient behavioral health units, utilizing a structured and supportive environment to help individuals work through crisis and achieve self-responsibility.
**Job Description:**
Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General, a world-renowned healthcare organization, where you will work alongside experienced caregivers to provide high-quality care to patients in need. Our Center for Psychiatry offers two specialized units for inpatient services: Crisis Intervention and Stress Management Units.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide nursing care in accordance with the Standards of Safe Nursing Practice and ANA Scope and Standards of Care
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population
* Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care
* Provide individualized and timely interventions, establish priorities for delivering patient care, and remain calm and professional at all times
* Participate in QI data collection, communicate information to oncoming nurses, caregivers, and leadership, and perform unit coordinator responsibilities
**Psychiatric Triage Nurse:**
* Triage psychiatric patients that present to the ED, complete medical screening examination forms, initiate admission paperwork, and assist with insurance/pre-certification
* Assess patients for suicide and elopement risk, recommend proper levels of patient observation, and provide discharge information
**Requirements:**
* Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
* Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Five years of nursing experience and three years of inpatient psych experience (for ED Triage RN)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
**Physical Requirements:**
* Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
* Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
* Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
* Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
