Job Description SummaryGE Vernova's Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We are looking for a Materials Manager to ensure the efficient management of materials, inventory, and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing material planning, shipping and receiving, inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse, customs and inventory control ensuring that materials are available to meet production demands while minimizing costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels across multiple co-located business units.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement materials management strategies to ensure timely availability of materials for production and minimize disruptions.Manage materials for multiple products/co-located business units, with varying needs and complexitiesCollaborate with Sourcing & Procurement, Planning/Scheduling, and Project Management functions to meet material delivery requirements of the businesses.Monitor inventory levels, analyze trends and adjust stock levels to meet production requirements, while avoiding excess or obsolete inventory.Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure that materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time.Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track material usage, manage stock levels, and reduce inventory holding costs.Analyze material requirements and forecasts to plan activities effectively.Lead and mentor a team of materials professionals, providing guidance and support to shipping and receiving, Inbound and outbound Logistics, Warehouse, Customs teams to achieve departmental goals.Manage and resolve any issues related to material shortages, delays, or discrepancies.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all materials management activities.Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management, such as inventory turnover, order accuracy, on time delivery, Order fulfillment lead time, Compliance Rate and supplier performance.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.Desired CharacteristicsStrong understanding of materials management principles, inventory control, and procurement processes.Experience with materials management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.Strategic Thinker: Capable of developing and implementing materials management strategies that align with organizational goals and drive operational efficiency.Results-Oriented: Focused on achieving performance targets, optimizing inventory levels, and reducing material costs.Detail-Oriented: Pays close attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in inventory management, procurement processes, and material handling.Problem Solver: Proactively identifies and resolves issues related to materials, such as shortages, delays, or quality concerns.Collaborative Leader: Works effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of teamwork and effective communication.Adaptable: Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing material requirements and supply chain dynamics.Data-Driven: Utilizes data and performance metrics to guide decision-making and implement continuous improvements in materials management.Customer-Focused: Understands and prioritizes customer needs, ensuring that materials management supports timely production and delivery.GE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
