JOB LOCATION: Arch Coal Operations Annex- Grafton, WV

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: The position will be responsible for engineering design and mapping of the various facilities necessary to support mining operations in the region. This position will also provide general support to operations in order to comply with regulatory and company requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Design and permitting of surface facilities for mining operations in the region. Maintain and track multiple projects to and ensure compliance with project timelines.
• Convert outside mapping from multiple coordinate systems to the mine coordinate system.
• Preparation and submittal of various reports required under the regulatory programs, as needed.
• Perform volumetric calculations as required.
• Preparation of mapping and design of supporting documentation associated with NPDES and SMCRA, CWA programs, as needed.
• Prepare profiles and cross-sections for construction projects as required.
• Assist in the preparation and tracking of environmental permitting and reporting, as required, for SMCRA, NPDES, CWA, etc. Provide oversight to the efforts and progress of consultant activities, as required.
• Prepare supporting documentation and/or coordinate assistance to operations in gaining necessary permits, including SMCRA, NPDES, and other regulatory programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • S. or B.A. Degree in Engineering or Earth Sciences or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a
  • Ability to handle multiple
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of SMCRA, NPDES, 401 and 404 permitting and on-site environmental
  • Experience in design and permitting of mining facilities.
  • WVDOH and CSX design and permitting.
