Android Engineer Sr - ST (Seattle, WA) Starbucks invites applications for its Senior Android Engineer role based in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on advancing the Starbucks Android application, which is used by over 6 million active users. Base pay range: $127,000.00/yr - $211,600.00/yr As a senior engineer on the team, you will be responsible for driving successful delivery of your work, utilizing your passion and in-depth knowledge of Android accessibility to improve client components, identifying then subsequently helping to drive efforts to mature team practices and improve the native digital platform. Responsibilities include: Build, iterate, and enhance the Starbucks Android application. Champion accessibility and improve app quality with unit and automated UI tests. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of architecture and code reviews. Optimize existing code for maintainability and testability. Mature and evolve team testing practices and philosophy. Participate in vision and strategy exercises for the team. Qualifications: 4+ years of professional experience developing consumer-facing Android mobile applications. 5+ years of software development experience, with strong experience in integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, push notifications, and multi-threaded applications. Strong experience in Kotlin and Java, including Jetpack Compose. Proficiency with modern mobile architectural patterns (MVVM, MVP, VIPER) and reactive programming. Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG, Section 508 (international laws a plus) and familiarity with Android’s accessibility features (TalkBack, Switch Access). Experience writing integration and unit tests, and strong Git proficiency. Experience with Android Studio profiling tools to identify and improve app performance (plus). Desired: Interest in creating accessible products, CPACC or WAS certification preferred.
