We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time Medical Office Assistant at Albany Gastroenterology Consultants in Albany NY

The Medical Office Assistant Responsibilities are:
  • Work closely with nurses to care for patients in a team environment.
  • Report directly to nursing coordinator.
  • Retrieve patient voicemails - respond to same if appropriate.
  • Retrieve patient secure messages-respond to same if appropriate.
  • Generate task to nurse if unable to respond to voicemails or secure messages.
  • Make appointments: office visits, referrals, imaging studies & lab work.
  • Prior Authorization for imaging studies, medications, lab studies.
  • Generate result letters to patients/send portal messages.
  • Enter recalls for office appointments, imaging studies and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills and computer knowledge.

The Medical Office Assistant must have the following qualifications and experience:
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Basic Computer Competency
  • Commitment to confidentiality and respect
  • Ability to work independently, yet function collaboratively as a team
  • Medical office experience required 1 plus year
