San Antonio Winery is seeking to hire a Part-Time Host for our Tasting Room & Bistro in Paso Robles. You can apply online or visit the Tasting Room in person to apply from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
As a winery host, you will be responsible for welcoming guests to our winery, guiding them through tastings, and ensuring they have an enjoyable and educational experience. You will represent our brand and uphold our standards of hospitality while fostering a deep appreciation for our wines.
Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors warmly as they arrive at the winery, providing them with an overview of the facilities and available experiences.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our winery's products, food menu and the history of the family, company history, vineyards, winemaking processes, and flavor profiles of our wines. Be prepared to answer questions and provide detailed information to guests.
- Handle routine point-of-sale transactions as well as Promote wine sales by effectively communicating the features and benefits of our products. Encourage guests to purchase bottles of wine or join our wine club, utilizing persuasive sales techniques while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- Uphold brand standards for maintaining the bar, restaurant, patio, and private dining rooms.
- Conduct wine tastings for guests, guiding them through the sensory experience and explaining the characteristics of each wine. Ensure that tastings are conducted efficiently and that guests have access to all necessary information..
- Ensure that the tasting room and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times. This includes setting up tasting stations, polishing glassware, and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to government regulations.
- Knowledge of wine or ability to learn about our wines that can be communicated to our guests; Willing to train the right person.
- Food & Wine knowledge is a plus.
- Experience or willingness to learn sales, customer service, and confident interaction with the diverse public.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Outstanding verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- High energy and ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn the operation of POS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with little direction.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Available to work weekends and holidays.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Competitive Salary based on experience: $18.00 - $21.00+ per hour
