Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Quality Assurance with a focus on automation to grow and lead the QA team in developing and implementing automated testing strategies. This role involves overseeing the entire quality assurance process, from planning and executing tests to managing the automation framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.

- Automation Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive automation testing strategy, including the selection of tools, frameworks, and best practices.

- Test Planning and Execution: Oversee the creation and execution of automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough coverage of all product features.

- Quality Assurance Processes: Establish and maintain QA processes and standards, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure alignment on quality goals and objectives.

- Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key quality metrics, providing regular reports to leadership on the status of testing efforts and product quality.

- Issue Resolution: Identify, document, and track defects, working with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in automation testing, continuously seeking ways to improve QA processes and tools.

Qualifications

· Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role focused on automation.

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in QA or automation are a plus.

· Skills:

o Proven experience with automation testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).

o Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

o Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.

o Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, Python).

o Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).

o Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
