Strategic Account Manager, Strategic AccountsDescriptionThe Strategic Account Manager partners with the customer to build strategic relationships, articulate a clear vision, and generate business value. The SAM sells at the most strategic level within the account, implements a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance, and drives service implementation. The SAM collaborates with AWS resources—executives, solution architects, business development, marketing, partners, support, service teams, and professional services—to support customer interests and manage downstream sales and technical resources. Developing formal case studies and other references that highlight customer activity and workloads on AWS is a core responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and direct the AWS customer account team.Build trusted advisory relationships with key influencers and decision‑makers, including CxOs.Collaborate closely with internal AWS teams and external SI/ISV partners to deliver optimal business solutions.Define a CXO relationship strategy, coordinate executive business reviews, and maintain high customer satisfaction.Prepare executive briefing documents and communicate with senior executives.Manage the sales pipeline through Salesforce and facilitate all stages of the sale.Lead negotiations and closing of legal agreements such as enterprise agreements (EA) and power purchase agreements (PPA).Maintain operating knowledge of AWS’s service catalog and translate it into customer solutions.Define product requirements by understanding and evangelizing customer needs; provide feedback via PFRs or service teams.Partner with marketing and communications to develop formal references, press releases, and case studies that showcase impactful customer activity and workloads on AWS.Basic Qualifications7+ years of direct sales or business development experience in software, cloud, or SaaS markets with a track record of selling to C‑level executives.Proven ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close large‑scale technology deals.Preferred QualificationsAWS certification or a Bachelor’s degree or higher.Benefits & CultureAmazon Web Services offers a comprehensive benefits package, mentorship and career growth opportunities, and a focus on work‑life balance.
