We are looking for exceptional talent with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) expertise to join as a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Fire TV 3p Devices team.Our team's mission is to build delightful FireTV products for our customers and partners with lower cost and faster time to market.ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the team, you will be working with business partners, software development engineers and testers to design, implement, test, launch, document, and maintain complex software applications, tools, and systems. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management. You will also mentor junior software development engineers.Role detailsThe Role:As a Senior Software Development Engineer - Systems, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design, and bring to market innovative developer tools. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. This is an opportunity to design, develop and own the software that disrupts TV viewing experience and impact billions of viewers and devices.We are spinning up a greenfield engineering team to build tools and technologies which will redefine the way 3P partners build their TVs on FireTV ecosystem. With exciting roadmap and launches planned ahead. FireTV 3P engineering team will independently own, deliver and support end to end product journey for partners.Basic Qualifications5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPreferred Qualifications5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
