Director, Campaign Operations Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Location: Boston, MA, United States Salary Grade: $175,000.00–$200,000.00 Reporting To: Vice President for Development and Campaigns Boston University Advancement seeks a Director, Campaign Operations to design and implement project management processes, document workflows, and establish standards for campaign coordination. This role will manage day‑to‑day campaign operations, serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, and help prepare for a comprehensive university‑wide campaign. Responsibilities Serve as project manager for assigned fundraising mini‑campaigns and emerging initiatives. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, refine, and align campaign strategies informed by data insights. Utilize performance data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and recommend timely strategic adjustments. Lead scenario planning, risk assessment, and impact forecasting. Partner with colleagues in Advancement and key campus offices to clarify priorities and execute deliverables. Monitor campaign progress, identify and resolve inefficiencies, and recommend workflow and timeline optimizations. Proactively identify gaps in campaign operations and implement innovative, data‑driven solutions. Lay the groundwork for project management best practices within Advancement. Design and implement analytics frameworks and tools to measure campaign impact. Develop, document, and share project management and analytical best practices. Lead development of dashboards and reports for campaign progress and donor engagement. Track and analyze KPIs to guide strategic adjustments and provide regular updates to senior leadership. Collaborate with Business Intelligence team on trend analysis, segmentation, and predictive analytics. Monitor budgets and expenditures with Finance and Administration to ensure fiscal responsibility. Foster a culture of transparency, data‑driven decision‑making, and inclusion. Build strong relationships across Advancement and the wider university. Lead initiatives to cultivate a data‑informed culture. Support additional campaign and stewardship initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum eight years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of campaign fundraising analytics. Experience staffing executive and academic leadership. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Superior collaboration skills. Significant travel, including domestic and international, with some nights and weekends required. Proficient use of constituent relationship management system (e.g., BBEc) and reporting. Advanced strategic and creative problem‑solving skills; ability to influence and persuade.
