JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates ability and appropriate technical skills when administering procedures as associated with department policies and procedures and/or as needed by physician (Modality Specific-Computerized Tomography and departmental PACS). Functions as a Multi-Skilled Technologist.

Compassionately gives patient care to provide comfort and well-being to the patient acknowledging physiological and psychological needs through policy and procedures governing department. Complies with Johnson Memorial Health customer service standards.

Prioritizes and performs duties to complete daily assignments in an appropriate and timely manner.

Completes documentation thoroughly, legibly, and accurately according to department guidelines and in a timely manner.

Actively participates in charge capture/cost containment activities according to specialty area expectations.

Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis. Operates equipment correctly and keeps chief technologist informed of any needed repairs.

Participates in orientation, education and self-development including student training.

Searches for better ways of doing things by recommending and /or initiating suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided.

Works well with others and supports team efforts. Provides quality service to all customers (Internal and External).

Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in accepting work assignments. Responds positively to changing circumstances.

Performs other duties as required.

Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles for protection.

Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Two years post high school education and training in an AMA approved School of Radiology with current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required. Training and education in computerized tomography preferred. Current Indiana license as a Radiologic Technologist required. BLS or CPR for the Healthcare Provider certification required. Previous work experience in radiology or CT preferred. CT registry or CT registry eligible (with CT registry within one (1) year of employment) required.

Johnson Memorial Health is a nationally-recognized network of physicians, services and healthcare resources based in Johnson County, Indiana. The centerpiece is Johnson Memorial Hospital, located in Franklin Indiana, just 20 minutes south of Indianapolis.
