Description

Common Oaks Lodging, a division of Concord Hospitality, is seeking an experienced hotel leader to manage the soon to open StudioRes by Marriott Fort Myers, FL.

*Resident General Manager position is also available for a reduced salary; Salary range is maxed out at $74,000*

What will you do?
Functions as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including managing general property performance, managing and sustaining sales and marketing strategy, managing profitability, managing revenue generation, and leading the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. Acts as a steward and key leader for reinforcing StudioRes culture. Supports the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations and developing strong associate teams.

Essential Functions:

  1. Verify that service programs are in place and executed against (e.g., Service So Memorable).
  2. Provide timely, real-time feedback to management and hourly associates on service and operational standards.
  3. Review and follow-up on property GSS scores and comments.
  4. Create and support clear lines of responsibility for management team.
  5. Walk the property to ensure public spaces, grounds, work, and kitchen areas meet sanitation and cleanliness/maintenance standards.
  6. Manage the flow of labor between departments to support effective management of Labor Budget.
  7. Delegate responsibilities for operations and projects to appropriate level of associate.
  8. Prepare for QA audits.
  9. Understand and leverage sales and marketing advantages over competitor properties within the market.
  10. Coach and reinforce associate selling strategies.
  11. Develop innovative means for capturing new streams of revenue through property amenities.
  12. Measure, analyze, and communicate property performance using various financial/non-financial data.
  13. Manage on-property controllable costs associated with rooms, housekeeping, events, and food and beverage operations.
  14. Maintain Revenue Management Goals.
  15. Consolidate reports needed for period-end review.
  16. Review and work with appropriate revenue management reports.
  17. Keep brand leadership team and owners updated on property performance.
  18. Prepare and present reports for owners and above property leadership.
  19. Conduct annual business reviews.
  20. Participate in ad hoc owner conference calls and respond appropriately to owner requests.
  21. Conduct performance review process for associates.
  22. Manage ongoing development of managers.
  23. Cascade/Deliver training to associates.
  24. Conduct day-to-day Human Resource transactions.
  25. Facilitate on-property activities that communicate and reinforce Residence Inn culture.

About you
Experience - As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  1. 5 years of experience managing Marriott Full or Select Service Properties (Extended Stay preferred).
  2. Experience with Revenue Management.
  3. Professional communication skills, oral and written.
  4. Ability to work in a high-energy and demand environment.
  5. Strong leadership skills.
  6. Ability to solve problems effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required; 4-year degree highly preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Basic knowledge of computers and software including ability to use e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Conversational Spanish would be beneficial.

A Resident Manager is a manager who lives on the hotel property. He/she is on-call any time of day or night and their purpose is to direct the smooth and profitable running of the hotel.

Salary $64,000 per year plus free room and utilities

This position can also be made a resident manager at a reduced salary.
