As a CAD Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and drafting processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all CAD-related activities. Responsibilities Provide first-level support for departments support software applications, networked client systems and procedures provide printer and printing support provide application and hardware setup and support department-specific applications. Identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with office automation equipment, computer hardware and software. Implement and maintain CAD standards and best practices within the organization. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of the CAD team and designers. Stay updated with the latest CAD software advancements and recommend upgrades or new tools as needed. Troubleshoot any technical issues related to CAD software or hardware. Develop tools, MDL applications and workflows to automate repetitive tasks. Oversee the drafting process from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications. Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to develop detailed drawings and models. Review and approve CAD drawings for accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Coordinate with IT to solve local and project level problems related to CAD deliverables and project technology needs. Coordinate directly with Bentley for troubleshooting software and licensing issues. Coordinate with internal design production teams to initiate, produce and deliver projects. Identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with office automation equipment, computer hardware and software. Have an understanding of design development, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge. Perform other duties as needed. Requirements Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience. Proven experience working as a CAD Manager or in a similar role. A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ strong experience in technical support of design application. Familiar with the principles on Workspaces and pen tables. Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and drafting techniques. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Uses office productivity software effectively (MS Office). Preferred Qualifications Project experience and knowledge of DoT CAD standards. Experience working with transportation agencies such as VDOT; NCDOT; etc. Familiarity with 3D animation software.
