Commercial Management DirectorHDR is seeking a Commercial Management Director to lead the advancement of HDR’s Commercial Management Business Class across six business groups (Architecture, Building Engineering Services, Federal, Resources, Transportation, and Water) and position HDR as an industry leader recognized for exceptional project execution.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Commercial Management Director is responsible for leadership, strategy, and delivery of key initiatives that drive the Commercial Management Business Class.Elevate the technical practice and its people.Align with market sectors and operational areas.Build and maintain a company-wide community of practice.Champion the matrix organization.Support exceptional project delivery.Directly support project teams to successfully deliver projects. This position will be client billable for approximately 30% of the successful candidate’s time.Additional ResponsibilitiesProvide subject‑matter expertise to foster an industry‑recognized reputation for professional excellence.Collaborate across the organization to elevate the reputation of the Commercial Management practice.Produce, improve and implement standard processes and procedures to enhance project performance.Support the business group market sectors and Commercial Management business class leads in talent acquisition and retention.Lead technical development of Commercial Management professionals for exceptional project delivery.Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical practices, standards and expectations.Act as a boundary spanner and information broker pairing expertise and resources with projects during pursuit and execution.Lead work‑sharing communications for technical excellence and utilization.Evaluate and leverage technology solutions to elevate the practice.Drive open communication of production needs and collaborate with Geographical Operations Leadership.Provide hands‑on mentoring and team participation to support Commercial Managers.Mentor staff in nuances of different market sectors.Foresee emerging drivers and influence professionals to improve performance.Champion a quality culture within the practice and associated units.Advocate for professional development and production tools.Act as a role model of HDR’s values, code of conduct, and professional standards.Champion HDR’s culture: Client Service, Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Attitude, and Integrity.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred QualificationsMaintains professional or Engineering registration.Commercial Management experience within the AEC industry.Commercial Management experience on large, complex projects, including alternative delivery methods.Working knowledge of Project Management Information System software such as QuickBase.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Planning, Sciences, Architecture, Engineering or a closely related field.Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a related management role.Experience in management and development of diverse teams.Works cooperatively with company, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on Cross Sector efforts.Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.In‑depth understanding of HDR vision, mission and values.Must be a professional and ethical role model.Must strive to implement delivery of business group service area expertise and high‑quality products.Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.Compensation and BenefitsExpected compensation range: $181,580–$259,400.Medical, dental, vision, short and long‑term disability, life insurance.Employee assistance program, paid time off, parental leave, paid holidays.Retirement savings plan with employer match.Employee referral bonus and tuition reimbursement.Primary LocationUnited States – Nebraska – OmahaOther LocationsUnited States – Texas – Round Rock, Round Rock, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Corpus Christi; United States – North Carolina – Charlotte, Wilmington, Winston‑Salem; United States – Florida – Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville; United States – Wyoming – Cheyenne; United States – California – Long Beach, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Riverside; United States – Michigan – Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor; United States – Missouri – Springfield, St. Louis; United States – Colorado – Denver, Colorado Springs; United States – Washington – Seattle, Bellevue, Spokane, Washington D.C.; United States – Oregon – Portland, Ashland; United States – South Carolina – Greenville, Fort Mill, Columbia; United States – New York – Albany, New York, Syracuse; United States – Pennsylvania – Bethlehem, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Mechanicsburg; United States – New Jersey – Newark, Pennington, Woodcliff Lake; United States – Virginia – Arlington, Roanoke, Virginia Beach, Virginia; United States – Georgia – Atlanta; United States – Kentucky – Louisville, Paducah; United States – Indiana – Indianapolis; United States – Maine – Portland; United States – Alaska – Anchorage; United States – Ohio – Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Columbus; United States – ...
